Bike to Work Day | Visit Our Pit Stop on May 19

Biking to work is a great way to prioritize your health while also helping the environment as our region aims to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector.

Join thousands around San Diego as they “GO by BIKE” for SANDAG’s Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 19. You can register on the SANDAG website to get a free t-shirt.

Registration in advance is required and participants must show email confirmation in order to pick up an event shirt. There will be 100 pit stops throughout San Diego County on May 19 from 6 to 9 a.m. The exact locations are listed on the pit stop map.

Stop by SDG&E’s bike to work day pit stop at CP Annex

SDG&E’s Green Team, along with the Clean Transportation group, will be hosting a pit stop near CP Annex and the Raytheon building. Make sure to stop by on Thursday morning to pick up your t-shirt as well as some snacks and water to keep you fueled after your bike ride!

There will also be a pit stop at Sempra HQ, staffed by the SDG&E Community Relations team, at the corner of 8th Avenue and Island Avenue for breakfast burritos, fruit and water.

If you’re working remotely on May 19, you can still kick off your morning with a bike ride and visit one of the many pit stops around town.

Our commitment to sustainable transportation options

SDG&E is a long-time iCommute supporter and has worked with SANDAG on a number of initiatives, including the Accelerate to Zero Emissions Collaboration, managed by SDG&E’s Clean Transportation team. Both SDG&E and Sempra have received SANDAG’s iCommute award at various levels for the past five years, recognizing our programs that encourage employees to help reduce GHG emissions and traffic through alternative means of transportation, including vanpools, carpools, telework or a combination.
