How long have you been with SDG&E? What is your official title?
I’ve been with SDG&E for 12 years, and I am a senior engineer with our substation engineering and design team.
What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?
In my free time, I love camping and being outdoors. It's really fun and exciting and, of course, I love to eat, so I love to cook.
What is a project you worked on that you are most proud of?
One of my most proud moments is working on this Point Loma substation from start to finish. This project took about two years to build and was challenging because were working around a main thoroughfare. However, we managed to make it work, kept our customers happy and improved the reliability of our service!
What advice would you give to those interested in pursuing a career in engineering?
For anyone interested in pursuing a career in engineering -- I would say that a strong background in math and science is piece of the puzzle -- but also, teamwork is important. Working with other people (and being willing to be a problem solver), is crucial in our work environment.
