Fire season is currently top of mind for everyone in Southern California. As our climate conditions have changed, the traditional idea of a fire "season" has evolved into a year-long battle against stronger, faster wildfires. Safety is SDG&E’s top priority. One of our preventative measures to help protect against wildfires is a Public Safety Power Shutoff. This type of event may occur during adverse and potentially dangerous weather conditions, and we encourage everyone to be prepared.
Now you can sign up to be informed about a Public Safety Power Shutoff event in your area, even if you don’t have an SDG&E account. Non-account holders can sign up for alerts by zip code. Stay up-to-date with our voice, text and email notifications, we will notify you up to 48 hours before power is shut off for the zip code that you select.
Don’t be caught off guard this year, prepare you and your loved ones for threat of wildfire. Make sure you have an emergency kit, emergency plan and stay informed.
