SDG&E and Sempra celebrated the resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community at this year’s San Diego Pride Parade. More than 60 employees and their loved ones marched along the 1.5-mile parade route, closely followed by a vibrantly decorated SDG&E utility truck.
Celebrating the theme of ‘Thrive!’ with the SDG&E/Sempra contingent this year was the new SDG&E LGBTQIA+ Allies employee resource group, SDG&E Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Geraghty, SDG&E Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Chief Digital Officer, Ben Gordon, and Sempra Vice President, People and Culture, and Chief Diversity Officer Deborah Martin.
The San Diego Pride Parade attracts more than 300,000 attendees each year and is one of the largest Pride celebrations in the United States. A San Diego tradition since 1994, the parade commemorates and honors the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. SDG&E has been a long-time supporter of Pride and the San Diego LGBTQIA+ community, supporting organizations including San Diego Pride, The San Diego LGBTQ Center and the North County LGBTQ Resource Center. We are proud to have another successful Pride in the books and look forward to next year.
