SDG&E and Sempra have been named to the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Top Workplaces list for 2022. Additionally, both companies were recognized with a Top Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award.
Mitch Mitchell, Sempra’s senior vice president of diversity and community partnerships, and Kendall Helm, SDG&E’s vice president of people and culture, accepted the DEI award at a luncheon last week.
“I am so proud to work at SDG&E and through this award, we have the opportunity to show our community why our company is such a great place to work,” said Helm. “This recognition is a testament to our employees. Their focus on inclusivity and collaboration, as well as their commitment to building healthier, safer and stronger communities, drive us forward.”
In addition to the award recognitions, as part of the Top Workplaces features, our community giving and volunteer efforts were highlighted in a Union-Tribune article this weekend, including our commitment to furthering STEM education and the Be That Girl initiative.
About the Top Workplaces recognition
The ranking is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology company Energage, LLC. This is the first year that Sempra/SDG&E has participated in the Top Workplaces survey and we were listed under the Large Companies category.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
The survey, which was anonymous, measures 15 culture drivers that Energage recognizes as critical to the success of any organization, including: alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
