SAN DIEGO, July 31, 2024 – San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and the region’s two Community Choice Aggregators – Clean Energy Alliance and San Diego Community Power – today announced the launch of the state’s first integrated customer portal. MyEnergyCenter.com will offer an intuitive interface, including detailed cost breakdowns, empowering customers to gain comprehensive insight into their bill to better manage their use. MyEnergyCenter.com is set to go live on Aug. 4, replacing SDG&E’s current My Account customer portal.
“As San Diego’s energy providers, this innovative digital experience showcases our shared commitment to deliver transparency alongside award-winning energy reliability,” said SDG&E’s chief executive officer Caroline Winn. “We are committed to working together to provide our shared customers with increasingly clean, safe and reliable electric service.”
Community Choice Aggregation allows cities, counties and other agencies to purchase electricity for their community’s needs, while SDG&E delivers that power through its extensive energy network. Clean Energy Alliance and San Diego Community Power currently serve more than 80% of customers within SDG&E’s service area.
“We recognize the power of customer-oriented collaboration,” said Greg Wade, chief executive officer of Clean Energy Alliance. “This initiative leverages our collective strengths to provide for a more user-friendly customer platform that will help support a renewable energy future for our region.”
My Energy Center will offer an improved digital experience, providing customers with additional tools to manage energy usage and bills. Key features include:
- Transparent breakdown of charges between SDG&E’s delivery service and the CCAs’ commodity service; and taxes, fees and other mandated charges that go into various government entities and programs.
- Energy usage analysis so customers can understand their gas and electricity consumption patterns, and gain insights to optimize energy efficiency.
- Integrated bill payment options, with additional digital payment options in the coming months for added convenience.
- Ease of access with direct links from SDG&E, Clean Energy Alliance and San Diego Community Power’s websites.
- Continuity with SDG&E’s current My Account through retention of existing features, such as scheduling gas appliance checks and notifying SDG&E of address changes.
“San Diego Community Power remains committed to providing our customers with the tools they need to make the best electricity decisions for their households and businesses,” said Karin Burns, chief executive officer of San Diego Community Power. “Working together with our partners, we can enhance the customer experience, make bills easier to understand and, ultimately, help customers harness that knowledge to help them save energy and money.”
My Energy Center has been built with state-of-the-art security measures to help protect customer information, including encryption and multi-factor authentication. Current users can log directly on to MyEnergyCenter.com with their existing My Account username and password or access it through the My Energy Center mobile app [starting Aug. 4]. Customers will also find links to My Energy Center from the SDGE.com home page, log in instructions on their paper bill and links from the Clean Energy Alliance and San Diego Community Power websites.
All customers’ account histories, data and bill pay methods that were previously in the My Account portal will be automatically moved over to My Energy Center.

About Clean Energy Alliance
CEA is a public, not-for-profit entity and an alternative to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) for power generation. On April 1, the Cities of Oceanside and Vista became the newest members of CEA, joining Carlsbad, Del Mar, Escondido, San Marcos and Solana Beach in providing cleaner energy to their residents and businesses. Across the member cities, CEA replaces SDG&E as the entity responsible for purchasing power from energy providers. SDG&E continues to deliver this energy to homes and businesses and continues to handle all energy billing. Customers, including those from Oceanside and Vista will continue to receive one bill from SDG&E for all energy services, including CEA’s charges for power generation.
