Gusty winds lashed parts of San Diego County’s backcountry last night as a powerful winter storm pushed out of the region, causing damage to parts of our electric system and necessitating emergency repairs.
With the return of daylight this morning, crews are working hard to make the necessary repairs so power can be restored to impacted customers. To safely complete the work, power was turned off to about 1,500 customers in the Julian area at about 10 a.m. this morning. All repairs were completed by 11:30 a.m. and power was fully restored to impacted customers.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as there is never a good time to lose power.
For regular updates, please check the SDG&E Outage Map. Residents should also monitor the weather as our meteorology team forecasts gusty winds between 20-and-30 mph for the remainder of the day.
