For the second year in a row, SDG&E is inviting the public to participate in a series of Wildfire Resiliency & Operations Open House Webinars occurring during the month of May.
With fire season around the corner, these webinars are intended to share what SDG&E and their partners are doing to mitigate potential utility-related wildfires and to help keep communities safe and provide tips on how the public can prepare in advance.
SDG&E encourages anyone interested in learning more about Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and how to be prepared for potential power shutoff events and the threat of wildfire to attend any of the six webinars.
During the scheduled live events, participants are encouraged to ask questions of subject matter experts, including personnel from SDG&E’s Emergency Management, Wildfire Resilience & Operations, Vegetation Management and Meteorology teams about wildfire and PSPS mitigation efforts. Safety is SDG&E’s highest priority and the company is committed to continuously improving wildfire preparedness to ensure the safety of everyone in the region.
Discussions will also focus on public programs and other infrastructure and program enhancements that help reduce the PSPS impacts to customers. For more than a decade, the company has been adding new weather monitoring technology, upgrading existing and adding new infrastructure, and working with first responders to keep communities safe.
