Today, SDG&E is holding the first of six Wildfire Mitigation and Resiliency Open Houses in high fire risk communities in the backcountry that have experienced Public Safety Power Shutoffs.
We invite everyone to come out to learn about emergency preparedness so they can keep their family, their pets and their livestock safe, in the event power is turned off due to extreme weather and fire conditions.
Our meteorology, fire science, climate adaptation team will be there to answer questions. You will receive information about stocking an emergency kit, developing an emergency plan and designing or modifying the space around your home to resist wildfire.
In addition, you can learn about our Time of Use Pricing plans, vegetation management practices, infrastructure projects, and assistance programs for customers who are on limited income or have special medical needs that require them to use electrically powered medical devices.
If you are unable to make it to one of these open houses, visit our dedicated wildfire safety web page for emergency preparedness resources, including how you can update your contact information to receive alerts regarding potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs.
