SDG&E’s Clean Transportation team hosted more than 1,000 participants and showcased a range of vehicles – from school buses to garbage trucks and everything in between!
On Thursday, April 7, Broadway Pier was packed with electric vehicles of all types and sizes as SDG&E’s Clean Transportation team hosted the region’s first EV Fleet Day, an event designed to highlight the versatility, affordability and appeal of medium and heavy-duty EVs. Vice President of Energy Procurement and Sustainability Estela de Llanos kicked off the event with help from National City Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis, an advocate of EVs for her port-side community. Additional speakers included representatives from the Port of San Diego, SANDAG, the San Diego International Airport and Grossmont Union High School – all of which currently have EVs in their fleets.
Check out a recap of the day in the video below:
SDG&E’s Power Your Drive for Fleets program helps fleet managers reduce operating costs, eliminate emissions and simplify vehicle maintenance by transitioning to EVs. The program connects fleets with resources, fleet-friendly charging rates and financial incentives to design and install the charging infrastructure necessary to power medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles easily and cost-effectively.
