SDG&E’s MyAccount mobile app has been singled out for an award by industry leaders from a pool of hundreds of utility applicants. We are a proud Global Energy and Power Elite Award winner in the Customer Engagement and Billing category. The award highlights innovative projects in the energy revolution of utilities and their service to their customers.
Last year, we unveiled our new My Account Mobile app, which significantly improved multiple functionalities for customers. The new app enables customers to easily track usage and cost, manage payments, report an outage, and enroll in energy use and power outage notifications. One of the most notable upgrades in the app is the log on process. Customers can log on initially using their current My Account credentials and then set up a fingerprint or facial recognition log on for subsequent uses of the app, eliminating the need to enter a username and password every time.
Since the launch, customer sentiment has been positive, with many noting that the new app has made it easier to do business with SDG&E. There have been over 130,000 app downloads with an average of 60,000 active monthly users. Additionally, the App Store ratings have dramatically improved to 4+ stars.
Our goal was to provide a useful tool for customers to manage their accounts quickly and empower them to stay in control of their energy costs anywhere, anytime. Customers who do not have the app may download it from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
